Students who attend classes regularly and apply themselves to their training will benefit greatly from their practice of Soo Bahk Do.
Physical Well-Being – Through intense physical exercise students will burn body fat and strengthen muscle and joints.
Self-Confidence – We at Han Dol emphasize discipline of the body, calming of the mind and cultivation of the spirit. Self-confidence is at the very heart of the art of Soo Bahk Do and students will develop an inner strength which will help them to react correctly in many confrontational situations, physical or otherwise.
Focus – Many parents report marked improvement in their child student's performance in school and other activities outside of the Dojang. This focus is one of the primary concepts of Soo Bahk Do – even our adult members notice a difference after a short time training.
Discipline & Respect – It is a requirement in the Dojang that students are respectful of their master and senior students. This behavior comes with very little direct teaching, and manifests itself outside of training as well.
Community – The students of Han Dol are a closely-knit group of people who come from all different backgrounds but who, through their common interest in Soo Bahk Do, have become a family unit that cares for and supports each other in all things.
Federation Recognition – In order to ensure a consistent curriculum and adherence to the founder's vision of this Martial Art, all Soo Bahk Do schools must have Federation approval to use the name "Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan" (手搏道武德館). By studying at a Federation-certified DoJang, our students are ensured the highest quality of training. All classes are only taught by World Class Instructors certified by the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation. Note: Students who wish to be eligible for rank examination and belt promotions are expected to join the Federation within 90 days of beginning their Soo Bahk Do training.
