Danbury - Six students from Han Dol Martial Arts were promoted to the rank of Cho Dan during Han Dol's fourth annual Lunar New Year banquet. These students passed their examinations during the 132nd Dan Classing examinations which were held on November 2, 2013 in Region 1 of the US Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation.
Eric Chung, Rekka Jay, Mark MacLeod, Donna McLevy, Joan Meyers and Alex McLevy were each awarded their Cho Dan certificates and Midnight Blue belts and uniforms as part of a ceremony that was performed by Federation charter member Benjamin Cortese Sa Bom Nim and their master instructor, Frank Tsai Sa Bom Nim.
These students have each received a Dan Bon, a sequential number that places them in the proud Moo Duk Kwan lineage which started with the first Dan Bon assigned in Korea by the art's founder Hwang Kee Kwan Jang Nim. This number will never be changed, and will never be reused.
These new Yu Dan Ja have demonstrated years of strong membership support for the US Soo Bahk Doo Moo Duk Kwan through their appreciation for the Moo Do principles of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan and the Mission 2000 objectives set by Hwang Kee before his death to ensure the future of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan. We are excited by their achievements and look forward to watching them develop as Dan members in the Moo Duk Kwan.
